RACE PROBLEM 2010
We're coming to the part of TFA when whites arrive and begin to colonize Okonkwo's homeland. Considering past racism and oppression, do you think blacks deserve special treatment or acknowledgment? For example, do you think American blacks should get reparations (money paid as an apology for slavery)? Do you believe so-called "reverse racism" against whites is acceptable? How much of a problem is racism today?

First off i'm going to start this week's blog entree by say that slavery have starting from 1500s and last 1863 which mean we was enslave for 465 years. 465 years of being whipped, tourture, picking cotton,raping of sisters for babies to be slaves themsleves, 465 of own stolen culture, no education, the list on but most and importantly 465 YEARS of being own as poperty.So why would they enslaved a whole race of people? why they could go to so other places to get so people to do their labor ?why choose black people? we like any other race, different is just our skin color? I guess we will never know the asnwer to those questions.If you was going to take us to a different land why take alway our culture at least we can past our culture down to generation to the next why make us citizens insteads of poperty we human being just like ya'll?
ReplyDeleteSo you ask the question do you think blacks deserve special treatment or acknowledgment? my answer to that qusetion is yes we should. because of the simple fact that we was minding our business in Africa not bothering anyone we was isolatedform the rest of the world and one day out of the blue here come this white people takiing us and putting us in ship to a place that we don't have a clue that exist.We did 'nt deserve that because we did' nt do not to them.We deserved not only money.465 years of pay check to each worker who pick cotton off the fields because without our hard work america would nt be what it like today.It don't have to be in money in that matter, but we dersevres credit to things we did here in america.example without the help of slave in the civil war america will still be divided instead of one big country.even thought african american help develop this nation we still be discrimanatd because we seen as "ghetto" and ingorance people.
I do believe in resevre racism because they so black who can stand white people because of whatever reason.But not saying I do because I'm not A racist. and besibe I love everybody wheather you white,black,spanish etc . I don't judge people because thar wrong and you would'nt want to help to so. that I people do "reseved racism toward escially black people to show them how it feels to be look down to and to see how we feel when that do that to us.Even thought racism is not bad as the 1960s but i still exist to this days.A black person could meet all the requirement for a job revese a white person how when to jail ,but still get the job. Well we will ask the question why is it racism still in the year 2010?

I believe we blacks deserve special treatment or acknowledgment.The reason is because we was in Africa being who we are black workers and we had to be isolated from the rest of the world and one day out of the blue here come this white people takiing us and putting us in ship to a place that we don't have a clue that exist.I think we shouldnt use rasism against whites because of what they did to us.Racism is the belief that the genetic factors which constitute race are a primary determinant of human traits and capacities and that racial differences produce an inherent superiority of a particular race.Now days racism is not a big problem at all.

I think that blacks deserve special treatment. The reason why i say that is because we went through slavery. During slavery we were getting beatings, women getting raped, and thrown over ships. Which wasnt right. Men did most of the work that the white people told them to do. If we did something wrong they would make us do it over again. With us having speical treatment we could do what we want and not listing to anyone. I also think that racism is a problem today. I say that because somepeople view each other as bad people because of there color. Mostly they view black people that way. Just because we make the wrold not safe dosent mean we have to be judge.
ReplyDeleteAfrican Americans endured tremendous hardships during slavery. One needs hardly mention the injustices they suffered at the hands of their white masters. Even after the abolition of slavery, certain laws were put in place which made them unequal to the white race. The whole African American Societies are still haunted by the cruelty of slavery. That issue has made them very bitter and there are those who think there should be reparation for slavery. In my opinion, I do not think that is necessary. The question is who should be paying and who should receive any monetary reparation. The people who were responsible for slavery have all passed away. I do not think any Government should be made to shoulder that huge responsibility.
ReplyDeleteDespite all the odds, Blacks have made tremendous progress and I think they should try to let go the things of the past. In my opinion the so called ‘reverse racism’ is not acceptable. This would be a step for blacks going backwards. Whites today are in no way responsible for how the other race was treated in the past. If there is “reverse racism” violence might possibly happen. Blacks will be taking revenge on white people. Blacks would even be setting themselves up for more hardships and the country would be unstable.
In the 1950s and 1960s racism was a very big issue in the United States especially in the south. We remember the struggles to gain equality. Today great strides have been made to change that atmosphere but sadly racism is still an issue. There are some whites who still think of themselves as a superior race. Racism can be felt in every walk of life, on the job, in the community and even in the churches. When we talk about racism, one tends to see it as a one sided issue. Even as blacks have come a long way, there is a feeling of suspicion towards the other race. Some would even blame whites for their problems. I think both races bear some responsibility for what I think is a sad tragedy in our society.
Madiyyah says; I don’t blacks should special treatment neither do whites everyone should get treated the same not differently that’s what I believe. But the blacks should be paid money for an apology cause we been tortured all our life’s. Slavery has been going on for a very long time. People don’t deserve what we got back in the days and I don’t thinks its fair for us to treated wrong just because of our color that’s not a good enough reason for that. We fought for our freedom and right to do what we feel is right wit our life. Everyone should be treated the same. Some whites do discriminate black people still but it’s against the law. I don’t nobody should be treated better then anyone. People who doesn’t know anything about black people they think we these violent people and very ignorant and loud and disrespectful. That’s not true only people get us upset and do stupidness on spite. If something was wrong with us during slave time they would threw us over board because they didn’t have anything to cure us and we was weak and they didn’t need weak people they need strong people top work for them. We had it hard; we had to find some type of way to survive and stay wit our families. They starved us how would they feel if they were in our shoes being treated like that they probably would want to kill themselves. We blacks have mad a good progress in life. We got our independence from whites. Racism is still kind of an issue in America because people still don’t like black people for no reason. Nobody wanted to make it a big deal. Nobody was really trying to help us blacks but us blacks. I don’t think people should still be treated the same after it done been more then a century. What was the main cause of this and why didn’t it happen to everyone. Not jus the blacks the white s to they should of got the same treatment as us. And not jus had an advantage of everything in life while we suffer.
