Meet the President
Before last week's election, President Obama went on The Daily Show with Jon Stewart. Stewart took the chance to ask some tough questions (watch the interview at http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MIMgenYf-Tc). If you could meet the President, what would you ask and say to him that could make a real difference? Don't just praise him, rebuke him, or ask for help without a specific message. Feel free to respond to talking points from the show.

Mr. Khumbula always says, “There is always a starting point to and for everything.” This proclamation is totally true. To be more direct on this weeks topic, President Obama is America’s first African-American president. Getting to meet with him would be a great honor.
ReplyDeleteFirstly I would like to praise him for his marvelous work. Being a president and being a father at the same time is definitely not any easy job. As we know from his book that he tries to be a better father to his wife and kids than his father was to him. Part of being a good father is being able to provide for your family. Part of being a good president is constantly making good decision for your country; it also includes traveling a lot. Furthermore there is no romance without finance, so my first question to our president would be,” How do you manage to balance the two? Constantly your children will ask you to spend time with them and simultaneously you have to travel a lot (around the world) so how do you deal with such issues?”
When president Obama was campaigning, his main focus was change. He has been in office for almost two years now. Clearly that’s long enough to make change. Some believe that not enough or not any change has been made in his time as president. Therefore my second question would ,”Since you have been in office what changes have you made, what changes are you planning to make in the near future and where you really planning on making any changes, are you going to make any changes or it was just a campaign strategy in nutshell WERE YOU LYING?”
In present day, most teens are loosing interest in school. Their attention is now being turned towards entertainment (music, movies and internet services). Some are even turning their attention to money, unfortunately more than half of these teens for focus on money do not have jobs and are not being supported by parents, so they end up getting their money from illegal activities such as theft, selling of drugs and even robbing other people. It is believed that education is the base and foundation to everything. If nothing is done to improve educational standards America will be a total mess in 20 years. My third question is, “I know that you make sure that both of YOUR daughters are doing well academically, so why don’t you do the same for ALL kids in America ,What do you plan on doing to improve NATIONAL academic standards?
Rumors have been going around about our current president. Some say that he was not actually born in America; some say that he is Muslim; some even say that he is illuminati. So to close up I would ask our president,”Are any of these rumors true, and how does it make you feel that people are thinking such about you?”
If i would meet the president one thing i would ask him is why he wanted to become president because its not a easy job. Its also a lot of hard work with no breaks. Second thing i would ask him is how long its going to take him to change the things he wants to change. For example school. He wants school to be longer so that way everybody could get a better education. Which is the right thing to do. Even though i dont aggree with it. Third thing i would talk to him about is jobs. One reason why i say that is because most people are losing there jobs for no reason. When they go look for another job because they got fired they just say no to them. Second reason why i say that is because its vey hard for the owner to keep the job. Fourth thing i would talk to him about is homes. Why are people losing there houses for no reason. Even when they are paying there bills for it. Which makes all of them very upset.
ReplyDeleteIn January of 2009, the United States had crowned the first African American President of America. His name is Barack Obama. He is the 44th President of the United States. Every once in a while, President Obama gives an address to the nation. He has been in office for almost two years now. Obama has a beautiful wife named Michelle Obama and two young daughters. He travels to different countries to make things better. One of President Obama’s focuses is on change. He wants to change the educational system, economic system, and other things. A few people think that he is not doing enough change for their state or city.
ReplyDeleteMeeting President Obama would be a turning point in my life. I would be extremely excited to meet the President. I would have my camera and I would take a picture of me and the President and would show it to my parents and my friends. In light of the struggles African Americans had to endure and to see where they were, one of the questions I would ask him is which part of the United States was he born in. I would ask President Obama how does he feel to be the first African American President. In addition I would like to know if being the first African American President put extra pressure on him to perform well. The President took Office in the midst of an economic crisis in the country and through out the world. My next question would be how he plans to turn the economy around because so many people are hurting with loss of jobs and home foreclosures. I would definitely want to know how long the wars in both Iraq and Afganistan would last. I heard rumors that the war between Iraq and Afganistan has been recently over. There were many historic laws the president signed since taking Office. The most notably is the health care law. I would want to know what was his greatest achievement since he took Office. Finally, I would politely ask him if he has any regrets about leading this great country.
