Is age really just a number?
As the late R&B singer, Aaliyah, once said, "age ain't nothing but a number." Do you agree or disagree with this quote in relation to Patria marrying Pedrito at the young age of seventeen in IBF? Patria is the same age of a junior in high school (YOU). If you found true love, would you marry someone at the age of seventeen? Why or why not? What are 3-4 important factors that you would heavily consider before making this choice? If you even talked about getting married now, what would be the reaction of your family, friends, etc and why?

i agree with the quote because if the person is the same age like you and they feel same away about you. love each other they would get marry . also if you care about that person and to spend rest of your life with that person. and both of your parents said no because you too young to get marry . wait until you get older . what if the other person family feel like they wanted them to get married. and they would be happy to have that person their son-law or daugther-law .
ReplyDeleteI disagree with this quote. The reason why i disagree with this quote is because age could mean different things besides a number. If i found true love at the age of swventeen i would not marry that person. I feel im to young to go through that level of a relationship. My three important factors that i would heavily consider making before getting married at age seventeen is one i need to have a better understanding and have expericence abou relationships between young men and woman. Second i need toget an education in order to get a well paying job. Third i would need a job to be able to provide for me and to have a wife.
ReplyDeleteLove is like an earthquake. It is very unpredictable, a little scary but when the difficulty is over you realize how lucky you area to be loved or to love. Love is when you have a strong, positive, affectionate and warm emotional feeling for someone. Love us gentle, kind and patient. It is not jealous, has no color, no price tags and definitely no age limit. Love is the foundation of marriage and once the right person has been found, vows can be said and wedding bells can ring regardless of age. Of cause there are a few things you should consider before get married and they are as follows.
ReplyDeleteFirst and foremost you should only marry someone who you truly love. Don't marry someone for possessions or beauty. Marry someone because you personally, truthfully and faithfully love that person. Secondly don't marry someone because your friends and family love that person. Do not try to please your family by marrying someone THEY would consider to be the perfect spouse. Yes, it would be nice for your family and get along with your spouse, however the most important thing is that you and your spouse area happy with each other. Marry the spouse of your choice.
Someone once told me that there is no romance without finance. That leads to the third you should take into consideration before you get married. I know I mentioned above that you should not marry someone based on possessions and that is true, however you should also consider marrying someone who can take care of you romantically and also financially. This does not only apply to women. It also happens to men too. God forbid you could loose your job. Therefore marry someone who will bring income to the family when you can't. But love should be your number one priority, not finance.
The last thing I would personally look at before I get married us a little weird. Initial don't plan on eating fast food or cooking my own food for the rest of my life. I also want my food to be handled by good hands. So yes, call me a little weirdo (I don't care) I would and I will look at my wife's (to be) hands before we get married. I don't want nasty hands handling and preparing my food.
So therefore to conclude, if all these considerations have been let and I have found the right person I will get married regardless of age.
GOD BLESS...
I agree with this quote because when you love someone who they are is more important to you than their age and how they look. When you really love someone you can over look their flaws. I’m not saying that a 9 year old with a 50 year old is appropriate but it’s common for someone to care for a person of any age.
ReplyDeleteIf I found true love right now I wouldn’t get married, because I don’t want to rush into things. I want to give me and him time to grow together experience life together then we can make that decision. Don’t get it twisted marriage is just a piece of paper with both of your names on it and a ring. Tell me how a piece of paper can ever express your love to a person the only thing marriage shows is that your really committed to a person , because you’re ready to settle down. What difference does it really make if you get married now are 5 years from now there’s no difference because you still love each other.
Before making this decision I would heavily consider whether this person loves me for the right reasons and if I really love him. If he can’t tell me why he loves me and what he loves about me then we should definitely not be getting married. I would also consider if me and him have things in common, also our level of communication and how well we solve our problems, and the three main factors honestly, trust and unconditional love and how well they make compromises . Also he better not be one of those men who think he is going to be sitting on his butt all day making me do all the work and cooking.
If I talked about marriage now my family would be angry but mostly disappointed. My mom would tell me to get an education first and get my life on track before anything. Because that way I can be independent and never let a man have any control over me because I’ll have my own. She says that because if you depend on a man and you’re not very educated you will get stuck and have to depend on the man even if you don’t want to be with him, and I don’t want that for myself
I'm going to this week blog by saying as much I love the late Aaliyah music but ,her quote ''age is nothing but a number '' bi going to say that I going to disagree with the quote ONLY in term in love and relationship and it's relations to the book '' In The Time of The Butterfilies''.The reason why I disagree with qoute because I feel that a person who in love with a person who older then is kind of wrong or if the couple is like a young couple. In term of a couple who is young I feel that the couple should wait to really gett to know each other before making any desison to make a committed to each other.aThe way I look at it is like you don't really known a Person until you live with them.I feel if you live with a person and you really did'nt get to known that person thats when problem start between the couple.
ReplyDeleteTO answer the question If I found true love, would I marry someone at the age of seventeen? The answer would be No. Because first I did'nt get to know that person well enough to make that kind of committed. AS far I know that person could be a murderer, have numberous amount of kids, drug dealer or con-artist (etc). Second I feel when you married at A young age you are scarificing alot in you life like going to college and hanging out. I terms of me if I'm I would'nt have the time to spend time with my husband if im marry at a young age ( im planning on going to college).
But if like tomorrrow i meeted a guy I really like and we decide we going to get marry these are the things I will consider before making that choice :
1. Make sure that person is on the right as me far as us finishing school and getting a job.(who wants a dumb spouse ?) lol.
2.Make sure we have jobs.Other wise who going to pay the bill?
3.Lat thing I consider is if im making the right choice about getting marry now ( now as in the age 17) or should i wait until I'm older ( not too old)
AS far me tell my parent if I was to get marry it the age of 17, I think my family would 'nt approved of it because They would feel I should waiting .
My advice to those people who want to get marry at a young age its nothing wrong to be in love with a person and you want to make a that choice to get marry mke sure if that what you really want because not alll chocies are not the right ones.

According to Aaliyah’s quote, I agree that Patria should marry Pedrito at a young age of seventeen. The reason why I agree is because some people get married around the age of seventeen especially in other countries. The least someone could get married is sixteen. It depends on Patria and Pedrito’s parents to see if is all right for them to get married. A lot of people get married over the age of seventeen. The average age is thirty two. If I found true love, I would like to marry that person at seventeen, but I will wait until I get older and plus, I know it would not be all right with my parent or the other person married at that age. Even if I see people around the age of seventeen about to get married, I still would not do it. Instead of getting married, I will still have love with that person by going on dates. Some of the factors that I would heavily consider before making this choice is to learn more about getting married. If I got married already and I do not want to be with that or that girl does not want to be with me, that girl and I would file for divorce. When two people get married, both of the couple will move away from their parents and get a new house or apartment. By doing that, they have to pay rent, pay bills, wash their clothes, etc. Most likely, they would have kids. Another factor that I would heavily consider is asking my parents what are is right for me to get married. Another factor is should I even get married? I heard people say that they are never getting married but they are going to live together in a good life. That does not mean that I have to follow what they do. If my parents see me get married at age seventeen, they would not be so happy. I have to finish school and wait until I get older. If I tell about one of my friends about me getting married, they might tell me congratulation. They would tell me that I am one of the youngest person to get married at age seventeen.
ReplyDeleteAaliyah once said,"age ain't nothing but a number".I disagree and agree with this quote in relation to Patria marrying Pedrito at the young age of seventeen because I think they shouldn't get married at a younger age they should wait until they older enough and start thinking about there future.I agree that age is just a number but if the person is to older or older then you don't do it.If I found true love as the same as me or a little bit older then me I could see.I would not marry someone at the age of seventeen because I will be to young to be married and I wait until I'm ready to marry someone at my age.My three important facts that I would heavily consider before making this choices are:
ReplyDelete1)Talk to your friends and family about it and see what they say and it will help you a little bit more.
2)Never get married at a younger age unless you is ready to be married or want to get married at a younger age(but I would rather wait a few years.
3)Use wisdom before making any moves or choices and use your time wisely.
If I talked about getting married now, the reaction on my family face is mad or the upset face expressing and my friend reaction will be a congrats and start asking question face expressing.
