Age and Dating

In In the Time of the Butterflies, we see an older man at age 50 and older messing with girls as young as 16. In today's society, do you think that's okay? Or should people like that get a prison sentence?

I'm going to started this week's blog discussion by saying it's very wrong for a grown man AND woman to date a person who is a not legally a adult or a person who is not age of consent for that matter. I feel like a older person should date a person who is in their age range and a teenager should date a person who is in their age range it should not be the other way around.
I can see that if a person is dating someone that is maybe three or four years older than that person that understandable because there not a huge gap between the two ages, however one person is 45 and the person they dating is 16 that is very disturbing because that just don't look right because the way I see it that like that person is like dating a person who suppose be that person grandmother/father.
I understand the main reason why older people preferred to date people who are not there age because they want to feel young and I guess by them dating a person who is younger than them that person may feel that they be back in there young era of their life. But I feel that is other people out there that a older person can dated that can make them feel younger , but I older person cannot not go low as to a teenager to find that source of youthness. I feel that a person who is dating a person that is not in their age range are on the little selfish side because I feel that you should let a teenager be a teenager and let a teenager do things that teenagers do like party movie etc. Because A person that is an older person may expect more of a person who is young like no saying all older people but some may want a young to settle down and get Marry but they won’t because they young and don’t want to be tie down.
Far as my opinion if a person should go to jail for dating a person that is way young than them I feel that they should but not to like sent they whole life behind bar. A feel a person who is dating someone that is younger than them is send to jail BUT didn’t know that person was 16 then that person should still be sent but they should serve they whole sentence because they didn’t know that person was a minor. However if I person knew what they was doing and didn’t on purpose or did it to take advantage of the minor then yes they should go to jail. This is my opinion on this weeks’ blog discussion.
I do feel that an older person has the right in some way to care about someone of any age as would when getting to know new people, or like a grandpa would love his grandchild. But only to a certain extent. Their feelings toward that person should be a wanting to keep them safe and perfect them. But not in any shape or form should those feelings be sexual of any kind. So to really answer this question I would have to say that a very old man being in a relationship with a much younger woman is not appropriate or ok. But what may seem as too young to one person may seem to be just the right age to others. However if you’re really in love with that person than you should wait till they are of age. A little off topic but I think when a sixteen year old decides that she wants to be in a serious relationship with a 50 year old, it might be because she thinks less of herself are she really wants a father figure. Because woman tend to date their fathers, meaning they chose men that remind them of their fathers. In our society today I see this scenario happen a lot and it is very common. The reasoning for this is because some of the boys around our age are mentally less mature and we tend to mature faster and want more serious relationships. Where as the boys that’s our age just want to have fun, which nothing is wrong with that. But do to that younger girls turn to older men searching for a sense of maturity and seriousness. This is because we know that older men have experience and are mature and have reached a point in their life of not just wanting to have fun anymore but wants a lasting relationship. First and foremost, this is a very controversial issue. They always say age is nothing but a number, but believe me you I personally would not like seeing my very own daughter (when I get one) or my son dating someone who is of the same age me. And at the same time parents' number one goal is to make their children happy. If dating an older person makes your child happy should you still let them have a relationship. If I was forced to pick a side, which is very difficult I would say if they love each other they should date. It is very beneficial for both the older guy and the young girl. Having this relationship would provide easy income for the girl. It will make the old man feel younger. The girl would feel safe and secure in the arms of an old man. Furthermore most people are Christians, the bible (Basic Instructions Before Leaving Earth) does not say there’s anything wrong with people with age differences of decades dating, so yes, why should there be a problem if they TRULLY love each other.
Like I said this is a controversial issue. The couple definitely undergoes certain difficulties if they date. For example there will be a huge difference in maturity levels. Based on visual experience, the female will claim that the man is over protective and too controlling. Someone's sexual pleasures will not be fully met. Based on visual experience again, the female might eventually want to be with someone of her age. Usually a young lady only dates an older man just for money. I strongly disagree with Keyonna its not selfish for one to love someone younger than them. The girl is asked out by the older man, then if and only if she likes him she will go out with that person. Once again it takes two to tango, so its definitely not selfishness.
So to conclude, NO those men should not face a prison charge. Its all up to the female if she likes the man then they should date. Age barriers should not matter. Love should be what the controls the relationship.

In my opinion, I do not think that it is ok for a 50 year old man to be messing around with a 16 year old girl named Trujillo. In my opinion I think that a 16 year should mess around people their own age. The same goes with 50. For me I do not think that is normal. If a woman way older than me ask me to make out with her, first I will ask her if she is serious and if she says yes, I will say WHAT? I would tell that person no, that is not right. People that are 50 and older that are a couple are more mature than younger couples who are about the age of 16. When two couples are around or near the age of 50, that time, they finish school and have jobs possibly with kids and have their own house. For couples around the age of 16, they are not finished school. When the girls gets pregnant, their parents will be concerned because they are not finished. That will avoid them from going to school because they would have to take care of that baby.
In today's society,I think that this is not okay and illegal for an older man at the age of 50 and up messing with girls that are way to young for them and that the girl are 16 years old,NO WAY!.I called that rape or child abuse because during in this society you can get or have time on your personal record and a lot of people don't want that to happened to them.So in this society you can get time on your record and/or either go to prison and stay there for mad years.Many people don't like to be in prison because they can't do nothing in there just sleep,play,and eat nasty food.In this society people do/does this need to think about what they are doing before they make the wrong mistake in their life.50 and up older man messing with young girl need to be sent to prison and stay there.If any old man doing that to a young girl they need to pay the penalty,do services or time,or they behinds going to end up in jail/prison.But if the older man like the young girl and the young girl like older man and they both love each other that'a an different kind story because if he really really really love/like you and you feel the same way back to him it showing that y'all want to be there for each other and stay with each other and have y'all future together.But I refuse to let my daughter or son(when i get one)do some foolishness like this.I will direct them the right way of living but if they met a person younger than them and they to old and they come to me with this I would be holly upset with them but I can't do nothing about it if that's there option and choice.So I will just let them be.If they have a relationship with a boy or girl younger or older than that on them if they feel some type of way for each other that's them because a person once said age ain't nothing but a number.
Where should I begin, I believe that there really isn't much of a problem with one dating a person who's a bit older than them ,but it becomes a problem when the person is about the same age as your parent. It's possible for someone to fall in love with someone who is fairly younger than them, I believe that the parent should give the child consent if the child is under 18 because this can be considered statutory rape, but the society makes them believe that it’s okay with the common motto "age ain't anything but a number." Well this number can surely send you to prison. What if the daughter doesn’t really know what love is and this guy/female can be taking advantage of your child. The child might be interested in an older person because they would feel as if the person is more mature than people their age and feel more secure but is it really healthy for them to date people about 10 years older than them? Would this relationship be healthy or would it affect them in the long run. Ton conclude, it would be more appropriate for a teenager to date someone maybe 2 years older the most but when it’s about 5-10 years older it becomes a serious issue and this is a situation that is often talked about , how would you react if this would your son or daughter ?
