Four-in-One Blog

This time around, you can respond to any ONE of the four top blog topics recommended by you or your peers! I tweaked the wording a bit. As always, bear in mind that I will not approve posts that are carelessly written or too short.

By Chamira Bennett:
What are your thoughts on domestic violence? Do you think that at any point in time a man or woman has the right to put his or her hands on a relationship partner? For example, consider Chris Brown and Rihanna. Do you think there is a double standard to this? We usually put all the blame on men, but what about the women who do the same?

By Shareef Jordan:
What movie would you want to be in if you had the chance? Explain your choice.

By Unique Wilson:
A young man was holding his son while the cops were trying to arrest him. The cops did not care that the young man was holding his son and trying to stop him from crying. First, we had the Sean Bell incident, now this. What would you do if you or a friend were in this predicament? How would you feel and react?

By Zinyusile Brian Khumbula:
"School Drama": The school is going crazy. There is always someone saying something about someone. There is someone who wants to fight someone. Children are getting pregnant and others are getting involved in gang activity and drugs. Some students proclaim that this is what makes the school "live." Do you agree? Explain and give examples to support your opinion. Furthermore, do you think this affects our learning ability and environment? Explain.

  1. Some students in the school say that the school is “live” when the school is going crazy like people fighting other people, girls getting pregnant, or others are getting involved in gang activity and drugs. I do not agree the school is live when all of these things happen. Instead people should say that school is pretty much out of control when all these things happen. When the school is live, that means every student is doing the right thing and students are doing well and staying out of trouble. Sometimes, the school I go to be acting crazy. When ever there is a fight between two people, students be ganging up, making a crowd. During the after math off the fight, people make loud noises and when ever they see the principal, they run or what they like to call it “dip.” Most likely, the people fighting might be related to gangs and most of all, they might get suspended. Another thing people do that is wrong is sometimes not listening to the teacher. Anytime when there is a test going on, normally the teacher wants 100% silence, but still some people be whispering. The teacher would assume that they are cheating on the test and give them a zero. Sometimes my school acts normal. It’s just the location of the school. Further more, I do think that this affects our learning ability and environment. How this affects our learning is that when someone in the school wants to get pregnant, like if a girl wants to become pregnant or a boy wants to make a girl pregnant that would affect the way they are learning. When two couples have their baby, they would have to be out of school for sometime and take care of their baby. Another way this affects students learning is when students are in and out of school meaning that students come to school half of the year and students don’t come to school half of the year. A few of the kid’s parents don’t care about how their kids are doing in school. They also don’t about how they look or if they are in and out of school.
