Obama 2012

Recently, President Obama has gotten a popularity boost due to the capture and killing of Osama bin Laden, which some say secured his reelection in 2012. Do you think President Obama should be reelected? What do you think his chances are? Use facts and logical arguments to support your view. If you disagree with someone else's view, remember to disagree without being disagreeable.

A fun website I found for evidence: http://www.politifact.com/truth-o-meter/promises/ (It doesn't have older achievements, such as the huge health care bill.)

  1. President Barrack Obama is America’s first African American president. To be honest I think he did all the legal requirements that have to be done in order for one to be a president, therefore I strongly believe that he has to be reelected in to presidency for his second term. A lot of people believe that Obama is using the capture and assassination of Osama Bin Laden as a campaign utensil. I personally do not think that, that was the reason he decided to move in on Osama. It was just a coincident and I am sure he would have done the same thing even if this opportunity came at any other time of his presidency term(s).
I strongly believe that Obama stands a very good chance to be reelected. First and foremost he is America’s first black president and evidently African Americans dominate America’s population. As a black person, I believe that black people would like to see another person of their kind lead the country. Secondly Obama has been doing a great job as the president. He has given American citizens the right to medical consultations regardless of the financial status people may have. When Obama campaigned, he promised to bring back the troops who had been serving their country in different countries and slowly but surely the troops have been coming home. Furthermore our president has been showing concern for the education of America’s youth by visiting colleges and conversing with students to find out what he could do to improve the education standards of the country.
To be honest I have never been so interested in this country’s politics prior to Obama’s presidency. Since then, I have been conversing with older people who know a lot about and pay a lot of attention to the country’s politics. I have come to learn that a lot of people (of the different race from ours) are against Obama’s presidency. For example there have been conspiracies that Obama was/is Muslim. This is just a rumor that was spread so that people could hate Obama. Furthermore people have requested to view Obama’s birth certificate because they believed that he was not born on American land. All these rumors that were spread about Obama have been proven untrue; therefore I cannot find a reason why he can’t get another term of presidency.
Obama should get another term. The entire country should experience the presidency of African American decision-making. That’s just my own personal view. Clearly because people operate differently based on upbringing, race and ethnicity.

  2. To start things off I’am going to say as an African American I'm proud that we finally have a president of our own kind after 400 years of the hardships that we faced here in a racial society. It gives in a sense of hope, that we as a society of people can resolve some of the issues we have among each other.

In my opinion, Obama should get reelected, but not because he took down the Osama Bin Laden or because the simple fact that he black, but people should reelected him for the actual improvement he made in this country such as:

Expand eligibility for State Children's Health Insurance Fund, this provides health insurance for a child that comes from low-income family. This was a issue that affected millions of children over America, now that Obama passed a bill that insured that when a child gets sick, they will be treated with little or no cost.

Increase funding to expand community based prevention programs; this helps fund programs that are within a community such as recreation center for teens to keep them out of streets.

Stimulus provided $2 billion in new funding for child care, this provide children that comes from low-income families with a high quality education as a child that comes from that has a high income.

These are the three of many bills he pass to insured that all people in America are doing well.

But there are some things I think Obama should do before he get reelected, one of these things is ending the war on terror. The war on terror to me is a pointless war because we in these countries fighting for no reason, also there are a lot of young people dying for what?

Above all, his chances of winning is high compare to his potential opponents, such as Donald Trump and Sarah Palin. It made not seem like he didn’t really do anything. If people really think about it, Obama had to fix the problems that George Bush(it was alot)cause doing his eight years in office.I feel that Obama did enough improvement to get him reelected.

So this is my input on this week’s blog topic.

    Obama 2012!
    YES WE CAN!
